Happy birthday dear James…

His names James and he’s turning 24
But he’s away from home fightin the war
Publically its done but behind the scenes
Kids are actin’ up and doin mean things
Hate crimes, murder, civil unrest proceeding
So James devoted his life to a job of peacekeeping
For International equality he patrols the land
The sun burning hot left the sand lightly tanned
Sweat drips off his brow as he ends his shift
Heads home, checks the mail and receives his gift
‘To james, with love, the birthday boy of 24’
‘from home, with care, best wishes and more’
He opens it up excitedly ripping the tape
Lifts the cover to find a piece of birthday cake
With a candle neatly placed right in the core
He lays it on his desk and shuts his door
He grabs his lighter and sparks the fuse
But before he blows it out he checks the news
More war, more fighting; it must end, no doubt
So with his last breath he blew the candle out
With a wish to end war, to grant world peace
His last breathe of air caused existence to cease
