Unknown Soldier

IP:

the price for happiness paid upon the ground i laid... slowly startin' to fade/
driftin' off into a dream or so it seemed...a dark world filled with unheard screams/
before me came a scene of a young man in his teens conflicted caught in between/
haunted by hate unsurpassed faced before in the past takin' every breath as his last/
no promise of tomorrow he continue on in sorrow down a dark path straight-n-narrow/
no way to for the pain to stop he fell faster then a raindrop down his face rolled teardrops/
yet he continued on as empty soul a price had to pay a simple toll he lost all contol/
in the game of fate he was a pawn too late the endin' was a conclusion forgone/

pain anguish and hate had continued to burn inside, had grown
he'd suffer the ultimate fate of a bleak soldier unknown...

through him i saw the failure of those trusted the way he was disruppted became maladjusted/
to the cruel world of deciet the day of defeat fast approachin' he couldnt handle the heat/
a broken family was no support reality began to distort voice in his head screamin' abort/
the pain inside grew couldnt trust those he knew suicidal feelings he tried to subdue/
in the end he couldn't take it he knew he just wouldn't make it cuz god forsaked it/
because of the hatin he lay contemplatin' a decision already made now he was just waitin'/
the blood ran red his final wish he was dead one quick gunshot to his head/
in a bind he left the world behind in search of better times he will never find/

pain anguish and hate had continued to burn inside, had grown
he'd suffer the ultimate fate of a bleak soldier unknown...

i stood before the grave all alone the soldiers dignity depraved never to be saved/
no family or friends came and to myself i wondered why starin up into the darkenin' sky/
two days before had been the wake and not a tear was shed for this man's sake/
no family never had a true friend thats why not a tear was shed for this man in the end/
his whole life his heart had been torn when he left no one was there to mourn/
noone cared enough for the nameless only place he was remebered was in the obituary pages/
on up to the grave i walked to read the name on the stone standin' all alone/
readin' it i realized what i visualized was a life i found well known...that of my very own
