Ya'll just dumb man, of couse it is concidered a black thing becasue BLACKS MADE IT!, You can trace things back to acient times, The Devil went down to Georga, Muhammad Ali, The Last Poets, Pimp lingo, a gospel song call He can Work it Out and a hole lotta other shit and trace 'rap'...but hip-hop culture which include the modern form of what we call rap is created by black poeple, and made by urban youths....since the commercialization of hip-hop by Run-DMC (not saying in a bad way) the vultues swooped in and capitilized the music to be sold to white kids, who had money, and Boom! the doors flew off the hinges. For various reason I don't know becasue I'm not white, they cling to it like everything eles that blacks do and then get exposed...like Rock-n-Roll, The Motown era, Jazz, Hip-hop, Techno, and now And1 mixtapes.......
