re: what other people said. it's all good advice.
to make your beats more dynamic try spreadin out the ranges, in other words if your bass, drums, melody, strings, etc are all med range then the beats gonna sound flat. try shiftin sum of the instruments up/down a key.
find a good equalizer plug-in. i use the same one on pretty much every track to get the most out of every sound. can't remember the name thou, i'll get back to you on that.
