I'm still not familiar with typical battles here and what typically are the rules. When I use to battle (on an old site), a deadline was alway stated... like Thursday 6 pm. This would pertain to blind spits and each person have to post with in 15mins of each other. So if i posted my verse first, my opponent had to post with in 15 mins of me or it's a forfeit. If a person can't make the deadline, there'd be an extention or if one wanted to just go ahead and post theirs, the opponent would have to post by the deadline...

Now that I think about it, the way I use to do it is pretty complicated....
