I dream of late night conversations,
Till the wee hours of the morning..
My head rested in the niche of your arm,
Your heartbeat echoing through my body..
I dream of days out in the sun playing,
Laughing and running with the children,
Looking over at you to see your smile, and knowing
The laughter in your voice is full of love, and forever..
I dream of the warmth, cuddled up
Beneath a blanket on the couch
Watching a movie or reading books,
Sometimes just the two of us, other times-
The children nestled in around us.
I dream of dinner parties and restaurants,
With our friends around us,
Laughing and talking all night long.
I dream of picnics, and walks in the park,
And car rides, and holidays,
Tickles and kisses, school carnivals
Birthday parties, and Christmas’s..
I dream of your body against mine,
Your lips on mine, your hands on me...
I dream of the days and nights of passion,
Of losing myself in you,
Forgetting the moment where I end, and you begin.
When the rest of the world becomes the dream,
And you and I the only reality.
I dream of growing old,
Children long moved on with their own lives,
Sitting and laughing with you at our grandchildren
At the family we have created together, nurtured together.
