i am not your slave, your maid or your hoe,
i am a woman from my head to my toe.
i am beautiful inside and out

my hair is real and my nails are not fake
my beauty is not bought with the money i make,

although we all vary one from a nother.

i was made from the mother’s blood, just a drop
she gave me pure beauty that will never stop.

my life is lived and every day i grow,

do not look down on me
for i am worthy of utmost praise,
i am a woman until the end of my days.

respect me like you would your mother,
love me like you would any other color.
love me no matter what i do,
call me a “woman”, that is what i am to you.

i am real and i will not lie,
i have been through war and pain
no matter what, i am a woman all the same

be honest and open, relieve yourself
