actually wut he said is very true. bazzy couldn't be more wrong. many mainstream artist now have home studios similar to some of ours. They use the same programs. of course they have some better gear because they can afford the best, but the idea is still there. the common assumption that real musicians and real "gangstas" don't have a computer is rediculous. This kinda crap only comes from the fake wannabes on this site that will never amount to anything in the music industry anyway. Our whole economy is pushing toward the internet and computers so why would you think that certain people wouldnt want computers or are "too cool" for computers. If u guys actually listened to some of the songs that our members drop some of them have real talent and really have stories to share. The styles represented in these songs are more advanced because our members demand much more from us. we dont have corporate sponsors marketing our music. we are forced to create true art or it wont be accepted. Members of this site are the best critics for hiphop because you tell it how it is. if u dont like it u feel the need to express every bit of that dislike lol. Plus the internet enables us to spread our music much more than slangin cds at shows. emcees just starting out can develop an expanded fan base before they ever do a show. I think to gain respect from internet listeners is a lot harder than gaining respect to mainstream fans. We are forced to prove ourselves much deeper than a tight beat with half-hearted lyrics. But the net also gives us an opportunity to learn how to improve our art. we all share tips and methods for recording and editing. we have people here willing to do things for free where you would have to pay a local company a couple hundred dollars. Bottom line is the internet is teaching us how to make music on our own. We wont need to pay a handful of people to do something that we can now do ourselves. that will give us a better jump in the industry when we decide to work toward our goals.
