Yeah, but that's the MOBOs. This is the Mercury Prize we are talking about.

I think a fair few have heard 'better' UK hip-hop acts. But just don't get into it. Not quite yet anyway. Thinking it's too close to US hip-hop. So can't get the feel for UK over US.

Dizee makes music which appeals to them more. The beats and fairly simple (yet gritty and at times amusing) lyrics. It's just one of those things. I can see UK Hip-Hop over taking this Garage thing. But i can also see it staying the same, it all depends on the climate of the industry both here and in the US (amongst other things)..

Personally i think he's alright. But can't see myself listening to his stuff all that much. But he does 'represent'. And does it fairly well. You got to respect that...

(Name me an album a UK hip-hop artist has dropped in the past 12 months this year that has been as definitive and wide ranging as Rascal's. Putting to one side hip-hop favouritism. And looking at it from a more general artistic point of view. I can't think of any at the moment)...

So Solid Crew made some good Garage tracks. Good pop songs which can be maybe played at clubs. But don't really like there music. and there isn't all that much to appreciate...
