While I agree fundamentally on what you are saying here Jes, we ourselves have our own issues with the indigenous people of Australia and the added benefits they receieve over 'white' Australians. However, we are all Australian citizens. You cannot get free tertiary education in Australia if you are not a citizen. However, Primary and Highschool is 100% free to anyone living in Australia, Australian or not... and I believe the biggest difference is that our government pays initially for all tertiary education in Australia, therefore any Australian can attend without the requirement of fees or scholarships etc.

What Im wondering is this... Doesnt a good proportion of the American Dollar go towards educating people (among other things) in other countries in the form of foreign aid? Arent you paying for their free education also?

Where exactly is the line drawn, that limits the 'Land Of Opportunity' for everyone, anyone... American or not.
Do American policies in fact favour non-Americans or immigrant Americans, more so over your own citizens?

I found this interesting -

Quote:
When they passed the bill to allow illegal aliens attempts at driver's license I wasn't bothered much, hey let them drive. Now my money is going to some bill to allow those a college education, the same college education i'm struggling to pay.
This is not an attack on illegal aliens, but bills are getting passed like this and society is blind they'll take it out on the receiving versuses the government.

Maybe society isn't as blind as you think..
You yourself said you couldnt care less about the aliens recieving drivers licences. Why? Because that didnt directly affect you or your pay packet. Although Im sure there are Americans out there who are affected, that do care. Maybe, just as you didnt care about that, others, who arent affected by education issues, simply dont care about this?
You cant pick and choose where you get involved, based on what affects you.. if you truly want to be an activist for your people, its all or nothing. Especially if you want others to get behind you, and get involved in your cause.
