Foreign aid and free college tuition is two entirely different things...while I don't mind giving money to a third world country to help young children get a better education, I do mind giving someone the chance to attend a major university on MY DIME while I have to perform miracles to do it myself....just a thought though....

Ahh I agree with you profiit, my questions were some what rhetorical. I was attempting to show that America seems to take at length, steps to ensure that the rest of the World knows it is the biggest contributor of foreign aid, and yet, the American people themselves are having to survive such circumstances. Believe me, I agree with you totally that the education system in America is messed up. After we exhausted all avenues, my ex boyfriend was forced to join the Army 2 years ago as it was the only way he could access higher education. Where is he now? He's in Tikrit. All he wanted was to be a journalist... and now, hes struggling to survive whats going on over there.
I do wonder though, why America gives so much foreign aid. I don't mean to step on toes here, but it seems to me that America does little unless it expects to benefit back in some way. So is it humanity, or power that the Government seeks? I'd like to think the betterment of humanity, but I suspect I'd be a fool in doing so lol
