He also brought Germany out of the slum it was in. He created jobs for people, made cars affordable, and basically made the country a hell of a lot better. That's why they all followed him, because he improved their quality of life drasticly. Sure, he snapped and wanted them to start incinerating blacks, jews, gays, lesbians, and anyone who disagreed with him, but at least their cars were affordable!
If he hadn't abandoned the Blitkreig attack strategy, he would have taken the world I think. Or at least the half he was on.
