Sorry, Lady D. But Hip-Hop didn't start with Run-DMC, Jam Master J, or even the beastie boys.

It started with Afrika Bambaataa and Zulu, it started with Grandmaster Flash and the furios Five, and Dj Kool Herc and the Herculoids.

Anyway... as for what Ayura is saying. It's common sense. If you haven't realized that by now, then there is something wrong. Of course, it takes us different amounts of time to figure this stuff out. Some of us, like me, stay quiet about any personal discoveries we make so as to seem as we knew it all along.

But hey, the sooner you get involved in something the sooner you can be enlightened about it. And the most realest Hip-Hop I can think of isn't the five elements of Graffiti, MC'ing, Dj'ing, Breaking and knowledge. Hip-Hop to me, the most realest Hip-Hop, will always be the Ninja Turtles.

Mmm.... pizza...

I heard it started even way before then, when the indians moved to africa along time ago, they obviosly brought there culture with them, and priest would say there prays really really fast in a sort of non-flow rytym (dont ask). Anyways, ancient african wise teller people started doing the same method, then it passed down to generations in poets in a secret form. Then, rap music came.

Whether to believe this I dont know, but we could argue all day about hip hop, I just wanna know what influences you in hip hop, and what influences you, you become you.
