I agree about the structure thing, but that's such a minor thing for someone who's jus gotten back into writting that you should be happy! The metaphores sometimes worked for me while other times I thought "that's a little too much". Your well placed alliteration played off this peice well, as did the couple of times where you used words closely spelled... Pretty decent drop to be a first timer in here...
