So he chose to trip out on drugs...fine....
but the officers are trained to realize when a guy is tripped out and are trained to know the proper procedures to take in order to bring the suspect in.
Just because it was his choice to take the drugs doesn't warrant a police beating.....
Due to his choice to taking the drugs, his mind was not functioning correctly.....the officers should have seen this and approached the man more carefully. And Lord knows what happened during the time the camera was off, those officers could have been provoking him. He could have been showing signs of aggression. But once shit started building up, that is when the camera was turned back on. That's when we are introduced to the man punching the one officer in the mouth. My question is as to what provoked him to take that initial punch. Was it his entire fault? I mean these officers know he is tripped up, if someone blinked too fast that guy could have went off.
But the people in the restaurant said he walked in there prior to the incident and was just dancing around and happy and didn't bother anyone.
Unfortunately, the only people who were close enough to provide an adequate testimony as to what happened during the time the camera was off are the officers. That is tainted right away.
By the way, the man's death went down as a homicide. Doesn't mean murder but it was described as homicide and the officers are suspended. At least some action was taken.
Excessive force was still used. The minute that cop paused and then continued to beat the downed man.....that is when any justifiable reason of force was thrown out of the window.
