midi hooks up through your gameport on your sound card you can also buy a special sound card that has actual midi ports... you can use any keyboard that has midi input and output plugs in the back of it. midi keyboard helps alot when producing instrumentals... definately get it... just go to a search engine on the internet and type in midi there are different types of midi instruments too... midi is an acronym that stands for something. like M (music) I (?)
