Mister Cab Driver = Manic

Rain comes pouring down, without a sound I now drive around
Rays of light can be found before they are lost with the ground
Which slowly disappears from the front to the rear end of my car
But all of a sudden this couple was real near as seen from afar
Though I was the only one that didn't see them cross the street
Moment trouble has begun; I’d soon be in the middle of the heat
Just in time I hit the brakes, my tires scrape over the wet road
He'd smiled and held her hand, although fake gesture showed
There was clearly something wrong, the girl didn't just tag along
His grip was too strong yet he seemed relaxed, humming song
Rapidly seated in the back as my shabby cab gets lost in pack
Thoughts of rape or attack run through my mind, answers I lack
Who are these creatures there, why do they bring a mystery?
As I view their features, I try to trace back examples in history
Am I just an old fool for being suddenly overwhelmed by fear?
Are their intentions cruel? I sigh of relief as destination is near
But now my taxi gets stuck in a typical New York traffic jam
*sigh* Just my luck…doubtfully I wonder if they know who I am
Glare outside and view a TV store... I’m shocked by what I see
The daughter of Duke Hume kidnapped, later more! But she…
My eyes go back and forth, from the screen back to my mirror
Time to react is short, the look she gives…makes me fear her
But I can’t do anything as the cars slowly start to move again
Outside sirens sing and the young lady’s face is like the rain
Falling down from the sky, grey and sad when she walks out
I wonder why I decided to stay quiet instead of shouting loud
I may have saved this girl from death but I was a mere coward
Will I be free in the world when by guilt I become overpowered?
I cannot remain silent; I gotta be a man and confess the truth
He may be violent, maniac with plan, trembling in phone booth
Ease suddenly came over me, it was right to tip the police off
I leave my material savior; see the cold as I sneeze and cough
I can only hope my actions were still on time, erased mistake
Because I could not live with committing a crime being awake

…Two Weeks Later…

I lay on the couch, sipping my beer and watching sport’s game
Watching young girls jump and cheer but the result is the same
They still lose and the frustration boils up inside my entire being
Suddenly I think bout two weeks ago by cheerleaders I’m seeing
The man had been arrested although she said nothing was wrong
Have I made a mistake after all or did he force her to play along?
And will I ever know? Maybe…maybe not but this secret I’ll keep
End of the show, dusk is done; I feel I’m gradually falling asleep

…His eyes close and snoring can be heard…

We interrupt this program for a special bulletin. The seventeen year old daughter of the Duke Hume has committed suicide. She left behind several letters of goodbye but the most surprising one is to a cab driver. It reads:

How dare you ruin my life with one simple call? Didn’t you realize?
You turned my final rise into a fall; did you not see it in my eyes?
I wanted to get out of this golden cage filled with hatred and abuse
My heart was created by rage towards my father, watch me bruise
Myself as I cannot live this hell any longer, heaven is now in reach
Behind bars is the man that made me stronger, oh how he’d teach
Me to fight back, not keep my head down but stand high and proud
No attack from him but from my dad yet the one time I shouted loud
You ruined my one attempt to receive freedom and be happy at last
I hope you’ll dream of me day and night, don’t ever forget the past
!

I went a bit over the line limit but if you just count the actual lines (so not the ...two weeks later...crap) it's like 52 I think...
