cool edit is good if you broke personaly i use pro tools version 7 but dark is right you need to be external components for it just to run then the plug ins cost an assload

big picture had been here forever and is styl trash so avoid his advice if you serious and gon put in work and have money get pro tools but be prepared for a price difrence
