Dude, that sucks... I think in that kind of situation, you really need to sit your wife down and tell her exactly how you're feeling. Communication is really important in marriage. Just look her straight in the eyes, and say "Look, I need to ask you about something... I'ma fix some rust up on our car, I don't know how yet, but I'll get it done. Is that cool?"
