American Nightmare

IP:

What once was the American Dream is now a pile of rubble
The white picket fence in pieces, kids turned orphans nobody loves them

Torn from her family like a home from its foundation
Mother are you coming back... her mind drifts as she waits impatient

Abandoned buildings serve as temporary shelter
Dying to grip onto life can anybody help her

Living a life not worth the struggle
Like drying sheets when rain is comin just wasted trouble

Stuck in this rut like a car in the mud
Her only spark of hope seems to be a flickering dud

She prays twice a day in hopes of the pieces coming together
But clouds are on the horizon and its not only the weather
