Stranded outside on the steps of mercy.
Burning, as the cruel sun grills me.
Keys to comfort and peace I've lost.
But I would give anything to you, at any cost.
My fear grows as you left me all alone.
Without a friend or a love to call my own.
I feel like a small child, trapped in the dark,
like a misplaced flower wilting away in the park.
My posture proper and full with grace
as these strangers walk by my decieving face.
I tremble inside with the coldness of ice.
I'm a tiger outside but as afraid as mice.
Each breath is my hope and I release it to you.
Each thought is my strength and I'm trying to get through.
Each sight is my vision and it's what I will do.
Each gesture is my life and I'm calling to you.
Come back to me, stay here by my side
and love me once again, for only you I cried.
