mom and pop shops will usually buy small amounts and then try to recoup the money from off the shelves.... there are a few chain retail spots that deal with local artists too (usually have a seperate section displayed with local artists) so give them a shout to see if they can help and find out what the process is.

That's how my old DJ got his start... selling mixtapes to record stores... he's now an international DJ out of NY and has worked for numerous major radio stations and worked with anumber of artists
