If you think losing $15k hurts, let me know when you've lost 50 large... lol. Been there done that from "daytrading" in '05. If I actually had the discipline to close out the trades at the end of the day, I might have made out ok since the one stock I was holding dropped like 90% afterhours one day. And being the dumbass I am, I averaged down and got bent over again when it went down another 75% from there over the next couple months. I still own that stock.. it's absolutely worthless now. It's a reminder for me to don't such a dumbass.

All I do now is mutual funds in my 401k, and they are all in the gutter right now. Four years of gains gone and well in the red. The chances of mutual funds being worthless should be pretty slim, so I'm holding off until when I think the market has stabilized some before buying more to average down. I feel better knowing I'm buying low rather than at the top.
