The beat, the acapella intro sounds like it's off-beat - like you're not following a rhythm. The beat it self is fitting for the type of track it is. You could use a pinch of reverb to melt the vocals into the beat a little more so they wouldn't have that sizzle on it, or turn down the high end freq's down to take that harsh edge off and warm your vocals up a bit too.

Another vocal layer on the hook woulda made it stand out and take more contrast against the rest of the vocals.

This sounds like a remix to jada's "Why" spit over a differnet beat. The content is very good and actual good points tha sounded liek thought went into em, instead of just throwing together some shit to make a concious track. It's a mixtape track, I'd say.
