Intern at a Label?
IP: 7650 FCB8
Would you do it? I mean, you have to run errands, make copies, send faxes, get shit, hand out shit etc and don't get paid, but you also learn an invaluable resource - field experience! they still take you under their wing and show you the ins and outs of the bidniss and then give you a good refference on top of that. So wouldja do it?

no. Only groupies that do anything to get close to someone famous would hire for this job. Or a girl that enjoys being somebody's bitch.
Nah on the real. I don't think i would be elligable for this job. Simply because im lazy and unorganized. THe office would look like a mess. LOL it would be emberassing for myself and the label

It depends on what kind of situation you are in.....if you are in my situation...hell no. But if I was like these kids nowadays, living at home with mommy after I'm out of high school, hell yeah, I'd do it in a heart beat ™

Labels have "fake ass business men"? How'd you figure that? If you wouldn't, you wouldn't, but I don't see where you're getting anything about the business it self. Quote:
That's what my thinking was. If I were rapping on the internet and slowly but surely going nowhere, I'd jump at the opportunity. What could I possibly have to lose??

i'd do it only for about 4 hours out of the day cuz i'd have another job that pays..i'd do it just to learn more about the business..becuase i plan on having my own record label someday ..be a producer and they can teach me alot in the mean time..plus the reference thing like you said...why not do that instead of sitting home on the computer being lazy.

if it was during my free time in my summer holidays then i would (depending on the status of the label, obviously) because i'm more into learning about the business side of things (while still producing, of course).....

werd I'd probably do it for a major label...P. Diddy was an intern at a label back in the day, there's many other eXamples of people now that are top heads at major labels that started out as internes, I just can't think of any more off hand lmao yeah if I was in New York and doing wht I'm doing now i'd probably go in and intern in the day time for a while then get a job that actually pays in the evening or something just for the eXperience of knowing how things run around a label and what-not...they'll probably treat you like a peon at 1st cuz you're new and you're an intern, but I'm pretty sure what you learn will likely out-weigh whatever "hell" they put you through for a little while so really you're getting over on them |

ECKO, word, that's EXACTLY what's up. that's how an internship should work to the fullest. good shit man.

Funny you should mention that, because we will within the next two months. We got approved for a loan to start the physical location so we're going to do it. Us and another label we've been affiliated with for about 8 years via the C.E.O.'s of the 2 labels - The Definition Records and The Rush Ent under the Entertainment Management company that we OWN with real lawyers, The Reniassance. So now we're looking for stand-alone physical spots like 3-room doctors office type set-ups since the studio and booth will have to be there. But it's definitely under way. Ox estimates a month or less, but I'll give it two months worse case. But this thread was just a general question, lol. ECKO's living proof that it works. Good shit Eck.
