get cubase sx, cool edit isn't too great. if you're serious then get protools. you'll prolly need some preamps too. i dunno wat mic ur usin or mixer u have so can't help much. but jea, get cubase sx. it's wat they're teachin at professional music schools like full sail, and you can get it free from a bit torrent site. hit me up for more info.
