I hop to my feet, with no particular motive
Just that lately I’ve noted things, I never used to notice
Now I’m breaking and hating rules I used to abide by
And feel disgust for some things I was often surprised by
I open my eyes wide, for the first time, and observe a weakness
The beat reiterates and everyone is learning the sequence

It topples the weak, but recently it hasn’t taken muscles to beat
There’s scrawny talent in the stream swimming effortlessly
Artists are making music devoid of ambition to be respected
Careers are cut short, but care less, because longevity is neglected
And we didn’t lose the track; we just lost the train that it runs with
And it’s been waiting to move, we just needed somebody to conduct it

Were all ignorant to the music, to ones self it’s own
Unaware of the things that need to be made known
I was granted consciousness, and silence is what rendered me
Now it’s clear…
We need to cut the beat short of creating rhythmic tendencies
