this is a real sensitive topic to me... If any of y'all was growing up and going through shyt like this than I know that you'll feel this drop... this is real life shyt that me and my lil sis went through when we was younger... so... here goes....

Times is ruthless...
I'm toothless...
Beat me? hell naw!... nigga, never again
my mind's filled with anger; the pain is settin' in
Tears drop my eyes; I'm surprised... I sit and cry
thinking 'bout the days... I wore shades... to hide the lies
I hate that ass with a passion, the body bashings
are at a standstill; I'm ready for some action
I can't forgive or forget the pain I've sustained...
the memories are stuck in my brain
10 years old another "mister"...
in the family... who beat my momz in front of my little sister
What could I do? I couldn't hold my own...
I'm trapped in a zone ... of broken hearts and broken bones
and broken dreams; sometimes I wanna scream...
the nightmares; envisioning my home as a murder scene...
All we had to do was leave him... how many reasons
were needed? a thousand beatings for every season
sleepin with the enemy; ya can't win
for losing... a limb or ya life... will it ever end?

That's all I can stand... I can't stands no more (repeat 2x's)
The pressure... the pressure... I'm ready for a war!

Now I'm feeling kinda leary... my body's weary
I'm wondering if this niggaz gonna spare me
He's drunk again... stumblin... mumblin
takes a swing... I'm on the run again
but now there's no one here to save me... he's going crazy
my only chance is to be "Swayze"... then maybe
I can get some help; call a friend or a neighbor
maybe send a prayer ...to my savior
Oh my Lord, Oh my God, Goodness graciuos
gimme the strength and the power to face this
agony... why does he batter me?
stays mad at me? I need some form of strategy!
my finger's on the trigga... now I'm the bigga...

I choose to abuse the fool who abused me...
bruised me... i'm threatening his life with an uzi..

Everything was true except the last 2 bars... but it is exactly how i felt... and if i coulda got a hold of a gun... ya prolly wouldn't be reading this right now!... one

If this is your poetry, I bet you can REALLY flow (in terms of hiphop). Continue to use your pen and pad to lead you to your healing/wholeness..so that you may use it to help lead others to theirs..

Off subject, your field is sociology/psychology. Whatever you are doing, understand that unless you are doing something in that field, you are not going to feel happy/fulfilled. If you are running from your destiny, stop. You will be drained doing what is not in your heart/soul to do, but doing what your hear/soul calls you to do will recharge you. Go ahead and do it so that you can others.. Many little ones (and even their parents) need you.

Salutes to you, Little Warrior. I have watered the seed that has been in you forever. May it grow and grow as the warrior spirit in you comes forward full circle.
