Mic Check

I'm looking to buy a new mic. I went on Musicians Friend and I found something that was interesting.
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7...ase_pid/273103/ So for anyone who knows anything about mics. Can you tell me what you think about this. Is it a good buy or should I look for something else? ahh the good ol "MXL Studio Kit". Between these two beauties, thers' virtually no recording circumstanve that can come up that you won't have a mic for. High-end singer beltin out the upper echelons of octaves? the 991 is built for high end. Got the next barry white laying down a verse? The 990 is all about that. Great kit, and I highly reccomend it for anyone looking to do wide-scoping projects. Tough to go wrong.
Honestly though the mic that replaced these two is the MXL770 and it has almost identical stats to both combined. It's a little more expensive like 110 or 120 new, but I've never used a 770 to really speak on it. But based on my satisfaction using the 990 and 991 I'd def say it'd be a wise investment.
