How Committed are You?
IP: 71E7 6664
I was watching this Behind the Music thing, and it was about Kanye West. Talked bout him dedicating his life to music, dropping outta school, making beats everyday and nothing else. Kinda made me think though, would you sacrifice all you had, just to be able to perform in front of people? I mean, there are easier ways to make money, cuz music is hard to do, and especially be liked by enough people to keep making money for years.
What would you do to succeed in music?

Ya, it's just made me realize how much music is part of my life. I always turn to music as a way of leaving all my problems and just kinda leaving my life. Spaceship is a good song to listen to when you feel frustrated, because it talks bout how much he went through to finally succeed.
Isn't that good of a performer from what I've seen though.

See, isn't it amazing how people can vary so much? Kanye basically gave up the stability of college and an education, to try and make it into one of the hardest industries to be successfull, and yet there are people who couldn't even fathom the thought of rapping in front of people, let alone sacrificing to do it.

True. But say if I wanted to get into the music business, I can't imagine myself doing that kind of stuff for it. Because in my opinion, not everyone is going to make it so you shouldn't drop out of college or whatever and sacrifice your chances of getting qualifications for another job, in hopes of making it into your dream job. I mean, if you don't make it, then what, you're pretty much at a loss because you wouldn't have that good of a chance if any of getting a different real decent job. That's common sense to me.

I recently quit my job cause it was cutting into weekends and I have shows almost every weekend out of province (state in Canada). It isn't sacrificing, it's prioritizing. I'll always be able to go back to that job and do what I did, but I won't be rapping in 15 years, and I'll prolly regret that I never went and did what I could have done. Although I'll prolly make beats until I'm deaf. "I gotta love, and her name is rhythm...." word.
