A place where we can post links to uploaded tracks would be a mint addition, or is it illegal and could RV get shut down for it.

no it is ILLEGAL.. the forum is providin links to illegal downloads and thereforr faces the same results as the site the link leads to

my forums had a couple thousand.. nealry 1000 of em came in the first week or two... lol @ your lack of knowledge... read into it.. and then feel stupid... ill explain what happens

sum1 finds out the forums/site host and informs them... the host susspends the account and requests the site owner(in this case strobe) contacts them immediatly(its usually the billin department they request u contact).. inform u of tmhe situation and request u remove ALL links and any other form of accesse to illegal downloads... failure to do so results in your account bein deleted and cancelled and if the person who reported you is in some way affiliated with the company behind any of the downloads they will be informed and decide wether to take matters further.. end of... moron

tell me wen i said they will shut down every forum?? please... jus make urself look even more retarded y dont you.. but as soon as a host is informed a site allows illegal downloads... its closed untill all links are removed... allowin links to downloads its like a site usin an illegal VB.... it isnt really worth the risk.. it is for the members.. but as a site owner its not worth the risk and possible hassle

This has already been done on RV. It was helpful for a while, as it involved exchanging songs for RV money, in a way to promote voting and activity. Yours truly organized and operated it...but eventually it died 'cuz people stopped voting lol.

^ I'm not quite sure what type of links you are talking about, but you acknowledged that ukhhf deleted theirs for copyright infringement... I looked up their host and they are hosted at a huge datacenter 4 miles from my office. If it is illegal there, it'll be illegal where RV is hosted and anywhere in the US.

Basically, if you upload or make available any type of commercial software or mp3's that are copyrighted, you'll risk getting shutdown. Some with cracks and serials. Even torrents are prohibited at many places. But if you are the author of the tracks, then you own the copyright. If this is the case, you are free to upload the tracks to whereever you feel like and post links to it from here like what is being done in the audio battles/songs/rhythmic convergence forums right now. I have no clue what is available at RM, but if its illegal and if someone complains to their host, they'll be forced to remove the files... I know this for a fact, since I have a server in the same datacenter.
