dont jus send a CD wit nothing else but a cover

i didnt put in a demo yet but if i did i'd probably call once like, 2 days later maybe, i wouldnt wanna call too much cuz then they'd get annoyed and all that so once MAYBE twice but other then that i'd just wait, if i hear no response then its w/e i might call again in a couple weeks or somethin

well actually..me and my niggas sent a demo to a talent agency..umm we pay them 700 dollas and they send our demo..wit no cover or anything..to 40 major labels in the US and UK..shit like Geffen, Arista, Colombia, Warner Bros., J Records, Koch, Universal and Sony are some of the places we got shit back from..still waitin on more record contracts to come in..

sendin a demo to a label yaself is meh..but this agency already had connects wit alot of these labels so the labels especially listen to our shit cause one of their right hand scouts said it was hot nah mean..

yeh, but to be real. USA labels budget> NZ's label budget. The label im hitting up is on top of our industry,but in comparism will look like a small local independat label.
hence the reason i approached them slightly diffrent and basically used my industry connects ands fame to get them to listen bro.

yea this agency does over seas labels too..they can put u d wit labels here as well..they try to let a wide variety of labels hear people..

I'm gonna tell you something that you proably don't wanna hear man.

The time when labels take unscolicited music is over. It's 2006, labels don't take demos or mixtapes etc without requesting them cuz legally they cant. labels arent trying to get sued anymore off someone submitting some work and months down the line you hear one of the labels artists usinga similar melody or concept or lyric and they get calledinto court. Not to mention the amount of submissions.

if you mail a submission to a label 2 things are gonna happen: 1: it'll get returned without being opened or 2: it'll get destroyed.

unless it's a small label, or someone there's checkin for you or you got a reccomendation from someone there that matters, that demo ain't gonna get no legs mayne.

I was once told,never just send a demo to a label without either, inside contact or innitial conversation regarding a demo.

So,yeh, I have had both of those, so its chill. I would never be another cleche emcee that randomly picks a label and sends a demo to them. That would be a pointless cause.
But yeh, they basically did request it from me, in a conversation label owner brought up the word demo first, so best belive I kept on that topic and ended up with the direct mailing addy,not the open for public mailbox address.

word i'ma be doing that this summer as well. sending in demo. The forum for that site has a section saying "SEND DEMOS HERE!!!" so it will be scolicited or w/e that word is. lol but word up. Good luck bitch
