And you might learn something.

For a long time I've seen the threads about your favorite rapper, and eventually it leads to a 10 page arguement cuz of where people live and what they truely like. Now, let me break this down for you so you actually understand what a rapper is.

A rapper is a person who can rap over a beat. This includes: flow, vocab, lyrics, voice, presence, and emotion. All must be done effectively and not be half assed or else he is bordering on performer. He does not rap for the money soley, but for his love of rapping and the culture he belongs to. He raps about different things and not the same BS over and over and over again. I have never seen people dance to 'Lose Yourself', but I think everyone will agree that the song is dope as hell. A rapper is a person who writes, records, and performs HIS music.

A performer is a person who has the big beats that everyone can move to. He raps about stuff he probably didn't even write, he worries about the money he wants to make, he doesn't really need it, but he'd like to have it. He puts on big shows and makes tons of cash from them. His lyrics are not great, but you can dance to his music which makes him popular. His image and his reputation makes his career take off and land.

Do you see the difference now?

So as soon as you put on a live show you stop writing your own lyrics and start only caring about money?

'Cuz last time I checked, a performer is someone who gets on a stage and puts on a show. Rappers of all sorts do it, because music is entertainment, no matter what kind of music it is.

I've seen Common perform live. Your saying since he put on a show that his lyrics aren't good?

Aight, probably should have used entertainer.

Entertainers don't worry about what they do, how they do it, or how they effect people. All they want is the money in the end. It's like wrestling. They do the fake stuff, but they don't care cuz at the end of the day they are going home paid. They aren't athletes, they aren't professionals, they are entertainers, that's all.

If you don't write your stuff, you perform what people tell you to perform, and you say what they want you to say, then you are an entertainer.

If you write your own stuff, do your thing, accept advice but don't be pushover, and do what you believe is right and do what you want with your career, in my eyes you are a rapper.

You want to entertain people with what YOU do, not what others say to do cuz it will boost your popularity. A rapper is himself, a entertainer is what people want.

You won't be able to afford your own CD.

That's how poor you are.
