The HYPOCRISY that is...Hip Hop

IP: 40C2 F668

On more than one occasion, I've heard rappers say, "Hip hop is all about venting and going against the establishment." At least, that's part of the history of hip hop. But, if that's the case, why hasn't there ever been a successful, openly gay rapper? There's still persecution towards homosexuality. So, why isn't there anyone holding up the banner for equal rights for gays in rap? If rap is all about venting and expression, then have all the artists in history been heterosexual?

Hip Hop is hypocritical in that sense.

umm, to Fakepexx...Dude from Run DMC just said it on VH1...He said, "The beastie boys represented what Hip hop and Rock are all about, raging against the establishment."

^^^So, there's one...STFU.

#2...I know being "openly gay" isn't marketable because of people's biases and fears. But, my point is, if rap is about venting and expression, then why in the 25+ years of rappers hasn't there been one to actually talk about being gay. Again, am I to conclude that in 25 years, there's never been ONE GAY RAPPER?

Niet.

Didnt know you were gay
But the population of gays, are most of them into hip hop
So deeply that they would consider rapping?
I meanw hen you think gay people, you dont think people into rap for the most part
I mean I dont know shit about gay people I might be assuming something untrue. But I dont think theres so many gay people in the group of people that decide they wanna rap that its really suprising.

ex. your the first openly gay person i seen on a rap board. Especially rapping
In my school there is about 3 gay guys and I dont think they like rap
