you have no voice in this argument. If you can't name 3 songs off Midnight marauders or low End theory, don't know who Boot Camp Clik is,
fuck them
remember when Biz markie was a rapper,
You say im just a friend!
name Common Sense's first album,
Can I borrow a dollar?
remember the first major diss song that was really personal on wax as "No Vaseline" (Ice cube directed at NWA), not "The Takeover"
Who cares about disses, that doesnt make hip hop.
or can't name me what Wu Tang video that Ghostface rapped in and still had his face covered you can not have this argument.
Sorry that im a wutang fan but not 32.
You were not in hip hop when it was raw uncut hip hop. You have no reference point in this argument...Don't get me wrong i know some kids these days who listen to some of that stuff or grew up on it, but honestly, most don't
So what about the people whos main influences are ALL of these people? i.e kanye is the same as Common, except he actually sounds better, with changes in his topics, but the styles the same. What about Rakim? What about Talib Kweli? Mos Def? Common is my favorite rapper on my iTunes list. SORRY if I dont follow the bandwagons of OLD people who arent relevant anymore. But, if we grew up listening to these people do we have a valid argument?

Ill tell you why you dont have a valid argument now, hip hop isnt dead, just go find the rock steady crew, or some random guy tagging something, somebody bboying, or a kid whos running around dj'ing, hip hop isnt dead, its more then 1 element to it.
