Topic: You awaken one day to find out your whole lifes been a lie, how were you told.. and why?


Last night i dreamt an angel came
into my room while i was sleepin
Woke me up,
insisting it was time i learned a secret.
She spoke softly as she told me
"There's something you must know..."
She looked me in the eye,
as a tear formed she lowered her tone
"Im not your real mother,
i thought it was time you learned the truth, Jim"
But she WAS a mom to me,
this couldnt be true. . could it?
As far back as i could remember,
she'd always shown me the light
Id always called her mom,
she'd always tucked me in at night
but what if she's telling the truth,
what if my whole life's been a lie?
That means a woman's out there somewhere
who belongs in my life
a woman ive never met,
then again - she couldnt of wanted me
because if she did,
id be with her and not this so called 'family'
the angel spoke "It wasnt like that"
as if she'd read my mind
"She was 15 when you were born,
she couldnt cope at the time"
so i asked the angel,
"why tell me now, after all these years?"
she seemed reluctant to tell me,
i used the palm of my thumb to clear her tears.
finally, she looked up at me,
drew a single deep breath -
"your mother died of aids,you have it too,
and we dont know how much time you have left..."
