Why strive for beauty,
When corruption is the end,
Why cling to purity,
When all have sinned?
Why clamor for peace,
When it's war we're about,
Why look for solace,
When you want to shout?

Why keep on pushing and pulling,
When the end is in sight,
Struggling to maintain life,
Knowing we'll still loose the fight?
Oh hell, why do anything at all,
When death still will be our
Downfall!?

I once strove to achieve eternity,
Believing it was within my reach,
That I could be free,
To know the freedom of a son of God,
And on a paradise earth,
Forever to trod.

But now... no more,
Just death awaits me,
No coldness, no pain,
No thoughts, no joy,
No love will I gain!
Just into nothingness,
No existence,
As if I were never really here...
Have I really been here?
Am I really here?
