Empty Clipz- Inspirational Crosses
IP:
(Verse 1)
It was the quiet that brought out his excuses/ He came alive with silence as he thought out his solutions/ To himself he was a nuisance to me a step from freedom/ But couldn’t bring himself to do it/ to himself he was useless/ He found his high in writing/ a fiend to his music/ A teacher to a pen and paper dictating to his students/ It wasn’t the destination/ to him it was the journey/ It wasn’t that he had patience he just hated to hurry/ He debated the flurry of voices that plagued his thoughts/ He hated the scurry of choices that said you need a job/ fighting conformity/ he stood above the pack/ Transparent in flawed poetry/ he wore emotion like tracts/ Away from home was where his home is/ no one notice/ A stone throw from being homeless/ and being in focus/ And as he spoke with wisdom inside the cries of confusion/ I stood eye to eye with him and sworn that I knew him/ I’ve known what you know/ I’ve been where you’ve been/ I lived how you lived/ I’ve sinned how you sinned/ Downtrodden and scorned/ I’ve been their before/ I’ve carried my crosses/ and I’ve worn my thorns/ (Verse 2) Her past is relevant in a situation like this/ It passed from her parents and she passed it to her kids/ It was an explosion of emotions/ that left hearts broken/ It’s a destructive pattern/ that shattered and left eyes open/ Her kids could hear the screams/ there hearts the hardest hit/ When they cant lay in bed and dream/ cause of the arguments/ they remember/ the fear of her temper/ but the warmth of her hug/ She kept them together/ and always restored the love/ She promised her self she’d never be like her parents/ Never let her anger get careless/ Never lose her marriage/ But she looks in the mirror and resembles what she hated/ her kids live in fear like she did and now she’s devastated/ She drops to her knee’s and hopes its not to late/ Her heart breaks/ cause the same curse is in her sons face/ But the kids are grown/ on there own/with a generation curses/ anger fills the home/ and I know I’ve known this person/ I’ve known what you know/ I’ve been where you’ve been/ I lived how you lived/ I’ve sinned how you sinned/ Downtrodden and scorned/ I’ve been their before/ I’ve carried my crosses/ and I’ve worn my thorns/ I’ve known what you know/ I’ve been where you’ve been/ I lived how you lived/ I’ve sinned how you sinned/ Downtrodden and scorned/ I’ve been their before/ I’ve carried my crosses/ and I’ve worn my thorns/ (Verse 3) He loved once and fought hard to keep it/ he couldn’t leave it/ He strung his heart along and still tried to find the secret/ He trudged into a quiet apartment/ and his heart split/ Left his shoes on the carpet/ he’s drained and lethargic/ Work was the farthest thing from his mind/ he wanted to provide/ and come home to his daughter who had his eyes/ He wanted love to flourish he worked hard for his family/ But his love wasn’t nourished and fairytales came crashing/ He gave all of himself and tried to give everything else/ she dealt aggravation and didn’t care what he felt/ So they parted ways and brokenhearted days had followed/ He took his mothers spared bedroom and waited for tomorrow/ I watched him live day to day waiting for his next mistake/ I have the same glass heart and still I resent the break/ I’ve felt his burden/ his hurting/ I fought his serpents/ He was a servant of servants/ I’ve known him for certain/ I’ve known what you know/ I’ve been where you’ve been/ I lived how you lived/ I’ve sinned how you sinned/ Downtrodden and scorned/ I’ve been their before/ I’ve carried my crosses/ and I’ve worn my thorns/ |
