It's not surprising, the contract was a guarenteed 1-12" release, and a 25k advance. Anyone who knows anything about advances knows that you have to pay them back if you don't make 25k back (not the album, you, as in your cut,) and there's no fucking way in the world you're going to make 25k off a 12" not in this age of digital music. So he's turned down the contract, so you won't hear him on the Roc. I also think Dash and co. had something to do with this, they could have easily sat down and said "look you're good, but you just won't fit in here" etc.

Wrecks stated reason for not signing: "I wanna stay underground." (Don't believe that, if he got a huge deal offer, he wouldn't be so underground anymore, but I wouldn't advise anyone to sign a 25k advance deal for a 12" contract, that's idiotic.)
