Best hip hop album of all time?

IP: 6DB7 687D

What do u think is the best hip hop album ever?

Give reasons why u think so. No bullshit reasons like "Eminem is the best rapper ever so anything he did," or "I like the black album cuz now that Jay's retired i wanna be on his dick like everyone else." I hear people say that kind of shit all the time.

Anyway I think its a tie between 2pac's Me Against the World and Jay's Reasonable Doubt; Both 5 mic classics.

Me Against the World was Pac's shining moment. I think it was his last album that was truly felt. Before he signed with Death Row and played into the gangsta image that made 50 so popular, and as he was in T.H.U.G. life's dying
days he made this album and put his soul into it. I think that seven years past his death he is over rated, but would anyone know his name today if it werent for this album? Going so far as saying he is the best rapper ever is something I'm not gonna get into. But this album is by far his best work, and there arent many out there who even have the potential to touch it.

And i dont think theres a person out there that wouldnt put Reasonable Doubt in their top 10 list. From Brooklyn's Finest with Biggie to Dead Presidents there wasnt a dull cut on it. Jay came out at the top of his game. Some people say the blueprint is on the same level but I disagree. Jay has never been this consistant on any other album.

All Eyez On Me (1996) - Greatest Album in the history of music. PERIOD. Nothing comes close. If it wasnt for that album, take your pick of the following.

Cronic (1992), Doggystyle (1993), Ready To Die (1994), Makaveli - The 7 Day Theory (1996), Me Against the World (1995), Dogg Food (1995), Cronic 2001 (1999). Just some of the top albums ever.

I think people are forgetting about Makaveli The 7-Day Theory Album.. that is a hip hop MASTERPIECE. 50 Cent called that album "the blue print of a perfect album"

but tupac has the most album sales, i still think those lists are wack without some of the great underground artists

pac was gangsta before he signed with death row. do any of you listen to his lyrics? he just had a different sound when he signed with death row. more mainstream appeal to his beats and raps once he signed with the death row.

the best hip hop album ever to be released has to be...
Wu-Tang Clan - 36 Chambers
nothing has come close to a perfect album since. I have all sorts of CDs and this album right here has it all. More than a handfull of emcees, all of which were highly regarded at the time. When the Wu dropped, everyone would have had 2 or more members in their top 10 greatest emcees list. The beats RZA crafted set a new standard. They were fresh and original, and so was the samurai theme the CD followed. Many tried to duplicate this but not one came close. This album is one of the few I know every single track to by heart. I remember when 36 chambers dropped, the first time I heard "C.R.E.A.M." and "Method Man".

I have yet to hear a CD as complete as this. 8 wonderful and unique emcees spitting nothing but raw lyrics over some of the hypest and rawest beats I have heard. Nothing even compares.

I love Doggy Style, but it doesn't touch this album. Scorpion Circles by Genelec and Memphis Reigns is a dope CD by two underground heads from Cali, but it doesn't compare to the Wu.

my 3 most favorite albums ever are

EMINEM-THE EMINEM SHOW-an album that u can play from beginning to end without skipping a track, its perfect, he spilled his heart out on that entire album and its a masterpeice.

ROYCE DA 5'9''-BUILD AND DESTROY- one of the best albums ever when it comes to lyrics (look at my sig). It's like THE LOST TAPES but of Royce.

MOS DEF-BLACK ON BOTH SIDES-my opinion of a classic, its got a little bit of everything and its pretty tite lyrically.

HOLLA AT MY OPEN MICS THEYRE CALLED
I AM THE AMERICAN DREAM
BLOOD, SWEAT, and TEARS
