The Future of Rap

IP: C248 9E60

I'm doing a speech about rap music and I need some help from some of you smart people.

The points I am going to cover are

1) The history/origin of rap
2) Where rap currently is and how it has affected our society
3) What does the future of rap hold in store for us?

I need help on #3 so if any of you have articles about the "future of rap" or if you have any reasonable theories, let me know por favor.

I honestly think it will either retreat back into a underground type thing or stay mainstream, just with honest artists like Saigon and the type being the popular ones.

I'd agree though I more see it goin underground especially in places like the U.K. and canada because mainstream rap is mostly known in the states and if other artist from other country's do mainstream style music it's just cause thats what the U.S. does. Kinda like a copy thing but in the future of rap I see it growin regardless of the styles. I just hope it's less fake cause all it is, is fake rappers sayin shit they aint even experienced.

Dude, it's all punk rock and 80's metal. I've never heard anything else played at a hockey game.

I'm just sayin Underground rap is most respected in other country's man, I'm not sayin that it's all people listen to but most rappers from Canada and U.K. n shit go witht he underground sound and it's what most cats seem to relate too so they respect it for that.

If you use any of my thoughts on this matter please be sure to give the appropriate shout out

the future of rap is gonna be a mirror image of what we are currently experiencing on the under circut at this point in time.... what i mean by that is.... the business model has changed... record sales are down... music is now something that the consumer no longer can reach out and touch... its in the ether.... its all digital... and the shift in technoligie will drive the future economy of hip-hop .. The culture of hip hop is very much alive and stronger than ever with the recent induction of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5 into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame... it only speaks to the strength and vigor of the culture.... The shift to under ground sound will be due to the monotony played on the Radio due to Payolla which is a HUGE PROBLEM in the business today.... people are losing their appetites for what the artist are serving up ... and since we could get there music for free.... why line there pockets further??? The future will hold a world of stronger copy right laws... and digital distribution of music will be the sole format for artist and consumers alike... THE MP3 Killed the CD STAR....

WORD

No, rap will die in about 20 years when all the underground lovers shoot themselves from an overdose of bullshit, then most of the old rap heads who survived will go into rock music and be gym class hero fans. Cool.
