my sound won't work,

my little speaker icon thats normally in the lower right hand corner isn't there,

when i go to "start/programs/accesories/entertainment/volume control"

it still won't turn on,

the option in "control panel/multimedia" won't show up either,

i tried putting in new soundcard, don't work,




do i need a driver, if i do, can someone tell me where to get one,

yes it sounds like you have a driver problem goto your soundcards website and update it. that should do it.

u might have to reinstall your volume control as well but probably not.

Go to Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager

If u have any !,x,? symbols you have a driver problem. If not, you need to reinstall the volume control. you will need your windows cd in order to do so.

yup and you can look for updates as well...they help in most cases
