Interviewing a Hero

Writing it tonight.

Welcome everyone as we interview an amazing person today,
This man killed the enemies of the citizens and scraped his way
Onto a better life, but not without sacrifice and blood with tears,
Along with caring for others and conquering a few of his fears.

Interviewer:
Hello sir? How are you today, I believe all is well as the children play?

Hero:
Well, after it is getting better after being in that cell night and day.

Interviewer:
Of course, well tell us of your heroic adventure which led you to glory,

Hero:
Well the story is somewhat nausiating, has weird ideas, and is gory.

Interviewer:
That's fine, now please tell us of your adventure into life,
And don't leave out any good confrontations or bloody fights!

Hero:
Well it all started out when I met this girl, course they all do,
Turns out she was the sister of my enemy, go figure.
We made love in the night, but during the day we knew nothing,
But when I found that my money stolen I knew she was up to something.
I confronted her and found her lying, so that ended our relationship,
I learned never to love, because a broken heart is all that you get.
So I found another woman, not sure of love or marriage or anything closer,
But the sparkling personality impressed me so I decided to get to know her.
She was perfect for me, so I asked for her hand in marriage 4 years later,
We lived in perfect harmony until something from the outside ate her.
I dove in this stomach and found her alive, but barely able to see,
She couldn't hear my voice, or be comforted by the fact it was me.
I tried to escape but this creature kept tightening our air until I passed out,
I woke up with her in my arms, and suddenly I remembered and looked around.
All I saw was light pink walls, and nothing else to behold,
Until I saw a shimmering light like gold at the end of what looked like a road.
So I dragged her along with me, and walked for hours at a time,
Each step killing me but knowing that we were here hurt me like a crime.
Finally I reached the golden light, to find nothing but a bundle of cloth,
I just stared at it and heard a sudden noise, then realized it coughed.
I decided I had to escape this creature, so I dug in and tunnelled away,
I grabbed the cloth, my wife, whispering though they heard nothing I would say.
Finally we emerged at the end, and found myself happier than ever before,
For 9 months we had been in the creature and now here comes the gore.
There was blood everywhere, and the green beast looked at me with greed,
Like a hungry dog looks at the table when the people are ready to feed.
He fell back and never got up and from then on we have been happy,
The woman still loves me, and the little cloth talks and calls me papi.
I will never understand life, but I think one thing is clear enough,
Whenever the going gets rough, you gotta stand your ground and be tough.

Interviewer:
Well there you have it folks, the true hero of the story is good and bad,
The real heros you have in your life is your mom and your dad.
