Are you looking for free hard to find music? Weather it be UK Garage, Drum n Bass, Hip Hop or RnB. U have come to the right place. The Urban Tunes network is the place for u.

Here is a detailed but plain and simple guide to getting on the network and getting registered so you can search and download.

First you will need to download the program to actually connect to the hub. A hub is a bit like a chat room but you can share files on it too. The program we use is called Direct Connect which can be obtained for free by visiting http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/

Before you install the program it is advisable that you sort out a share. In the Urban Tunes hub the rules are that you have to share 500 megabytes (MB) or more and have at least 2 slots open. I will come back to the whole slot thing a bit later. Once you have sorted a share into a folder you can then install Direct Connect. Once installed run the program. You are going to have to set up a few things within the program but this doesnt take two seconds. Click on the icon that looks like a tick on a piece of paper on a blue clipboard. This is the Settings menu. Click on the General tab. Here you need to enter your desired nickname. Email and description are optional and select your connection speed.

Now at the bottom of the Settings window you can select either Active or Passive. Active mode is what you should be using except if u are using a personal firewall such as Norton Internet Security or Zone Alarm etc, then you should use Passive Mode.

The next step is to select your share folder. Click on the Downloads tab in the Settings menu. At the top you can select where you would like your files to be downloaded to by default and you can select where you want incoming files to be downloaded to. The difference is to split finished and unfinished downloads apart. Click on the Sharing tab. From here you can select which folders you wish to share and how many slots you wish to have open. Slots are the maximum number of people that can download off you at any time. Select your shared folder by clickin Add Folder and selecting your folder. Once this is done you must set Upload Slots to 2 or more. If you have a fast connection then choose a higher number.

All the settings are now complete. Click OK in the Settings window to continue.

Click on the icon that looks like a yellow star. In there, click New... and enter in the Name box (UrbanTunes), Address ( urbantunes.no-ip.com ), and a Description. You don't need to enter a Nick or a Password just yet. Click OK. The hub you just added should now be in the list. Select it and click the Connect button. You are now connecting to Urban Tunes hub. Within seconds you will be connected. You can see the chat area in the middle. The connected users on the right hand side and your uploads/downloads at the bottom. You should be able to search and download straight away. If you cannot do this or you have any other problems PM an op/master and ask for help.

To show ur support to the hub u can place [UT]- infront of ur username...
For example

[UT]-2SGFM-Listener OR
[UT]-JohnSmith


UrbanTunes.no-ip.com -------------> for main hub
