Many people belive that the end of the world is soon and wit good reason....

1.For example super-volcanoes, the most destructive force on this planet. An eruption would destroy a vast area of land and trigger a nuclear winter. The whole of Yellowstone is a massive super volcano - and it is 40,000 years late in its cycle of eruptions. Scientists have been noticing some strange tectonic activity in the park…

2.Mega-tsunamis are almost as terrifying. Scientists predict that sooner or later an eruption will cause an island in the Canaries to collapse, sending 500,000 billion tonnes of rock into the ocean. 3.There is also the threat from bacteria and viruses. Bacteria are becoming immune to our antibiotics at a much faster rate than we are discovering new ones. Eventually we will have nothing left to fight them with.

This many warheads could destroy the world many times over. And with the way we're going war is likely.

The Mayans had the most advanced way of telling time and the most accurate calendar ever, even more accurate then the one we have today, and that was like 2 thousand years ago.They predicted the egxact day their empire would fall and they would all die and also predicted that the world is basicly in big trouble around 2012, which is not far off.

The Bible prophesises the end of the world in the Battle of Armageddon. Many scriptures in the Bible describe this event, and give clues to how and when it may happen. Several of them seem to point to a date of 2007 for the return of the Antichrist and the beginning of the Battle. They depict in detail how the Battle will be fought - it starts with an alliance of Arab nations invading Israel

All those people who say they see future and are phsychic or whatever(which i dont really belive) say the same thing about 2006 and 2012.So even tho i dont think they can see future I find it strange how they all came up wit the same date.

the guy who supposedly traveled from the future predicts the same date 2012 to be similar to when the red sea drowned the egyptians in the bible to save the jews from invasion. what if so much hate towards israel sparks a domino effect and shit just gets out of hand. I think this could be true and with all the nuclear and chemical weaponry being made now a days, ...

I actually think this is a valid and interesting thread.

Thing is, I don't really ever give that much thought to the end of time any more. Biblically speaking, nobody can predict it. It says so in the bible. In fact, if you read the bible it says that whenever somebody predicts the end of time, that is NOT when it is going to happen. But that's assuming the bible is true.

The Mayan calender is another interesting thing as I read that while I'm unclear on the year, 2012 sounds about right... it basicly stops. That's it. No more calender. Almost as if they didn't need to have it go on any further because they knew that would be the end of time as we know it.

That's just my two cents at least.
