I guess there's a reason HBO didn't continue doin "Blaze Battle". That was the first time I'd seen a freestyle battle tournament. Definitely a turning point 4 me. I think they quit cuz Blaze Magazine went outta business or somethin, tho. So it could happen, I'm sure. Even on BET. Freestyle Friday's a start, right? Let Free and KRS get out there and start politicin' about that shit. I'd love it. And who says no one would watch it? The whole damn country is hip hop now.

just be expanded from that...but not played only as
fuckin midnight..it should be like boxing...and besides
the battling someone should be able to come up every
once in a while and kick a rhyme to see if people are actually
feeling what theyre saing for real..no matter what names would get known....

a show totally dedicated to hip hop freestyle battles would be madly ill....although it would be nearly impossible to pull off...unless everynight there was a tournament...i guess that they could have 1 60 minute show every week on HBO, wit live performances from underground artists and mainstream artists in between the battles... the opnly problem is sorting out how someone would advance, if you have a weekly show, you cant have nothing going on yearly for like "the finals" or somethin, thats aloooot of emcees.... someone would have to figure out how to setup matches. they should set it up as like, every month, they have a single winner.... and at the end of the year, they have a 12 man show, with all the months winners...and in the semis there would be a 3 way, and one on one in the finals....i guess...


it would definetly get ratings, especially if they keep it fresh with new stuff...(interviews, performances from underground and mainstream, good hosts, great segments on hip hop history, etc) each show....

i think it would work, but dont think it could happen. too many people would bitch like "im white, we cant see this" or like "this offends me", unless they couldnt say offensive stuff, but then it would suck.

Thats what I'm sayin. Its far from impossible. Especially wit Def Poetry about 2 kick off. If that flies, Freestyle battlin is damn near a must. And HBO would be the place 2 go, cuz u can't complain 2 them about offensive material. They'll curse and all that shit. Matter of fact, any paid cable movie channel. Showtime does shit other than movies. Black Stars. Definitely. I think the bracket idea was a lil complicated. First come first serve. Let tha other MC's sign on lata. Weekly 1 hour show. Champion sticks around 4 next week's show. Done.
