Well getting beats made isnt incredibly hard.. You basically make loops and then peice the thing together using cool edit like some turn tables.. But having said that, the music side of rap tracks is definatly as important as the vocal mixing.. Because not everyone who hears your tracks is right into lyricism.. Some listen mainly to the backup music you have.

Vocal mixing isnt important to you unless you want to sound professional. But theres literally hundreds off ways to mix your verse so it sounds cool to people who dont really connect through lyrics.. Recording a track is very different to performing a track in real life.. Its like being given unlimited time and a bunch of new possiblitys with sound mixing..

I dont see mixing as work because of how good it is to hear the final result when its all put together and be able to say you made it..

word...

well really im refferring to a Good quality..close to Professional sounding beat..and lets say a mainstream type track...

but my opinion..

Producing..takes alot of work..my uncles in the music biz..and he produces..if you want a professional sounding beat you have to get soo much shit right...the right timing...the right instruments...so it sounds good....like people with the natural born talent or if they've been producin for a long time might take like 10 mins for them..but they prolly using the same concept of a previous beat they've recently made..and jus whippin down a quick song can take anywhere from 10 mins to half hour

but if your taking your time trying to get everything right..lets say its for the radio..then its a totally different story..

but for me who knows

because both have different goals...and challenges in the music biz

a rappers..lookin for the tight lyrics..and the catchy hooks...and tryin to make the best track possible

while a producer would be lookin for artists to work with...tryin to get their name out...and such and such...

On Cool Edit It took me like, 2/3 hours to spit tracks.

cos I kept doing it wrong, like not clicking record, or dropping the mic.

Or some shit.

I use Acid Pro, if I practice the rhymes and I'm hyped I can record in a good 30 minutes and get to adjusting it.
