"The hell," he said, and clasped his fists to both sides of his scratched face. Memories escaping through his mind's gaps.... leading him on a wild chase. A flash: standing above the sobbing figure,a forlorn figure,damsel in distress. Disbelieving eyes as he released his stress, raining red on her white dress. The mess...just a pawn in a game of chess, assaulted by a bout of amnesia. His wife...the gleaming knife."Come on dear, please...I'd never cheat on ya..." The young girl in his room, naked, young and covered in his own sexual mark. Each memory a dark-stained dagger piercing his veins, and bleeding his heart. "Who am I......" he cried, his brain expanding and his thoughts suddenly back, remembering, daydreaming, or maybe just rolling over the grizzly, ghastly facts. On this nightstand next to him, coated in a layer of grime and congealed slime. His mind played charades, dumping his past and locking away all of his crimes. He wouldn't forget this time... he'd talk with the demons and dance with Satan. Eyes reflecting fire, the lines under his eyes losing the curve, and straightened. |
