Methane - Teddy Bear
IP:
-=The Teddy Bear=-
Once upon a winter dreary, lying in my bed so weary I was tired and aspired to be mired deep in slumber. While I nodded, nearly sleeping, suddenly I felt a creeping And I woke up almost screaming, to see what was underneath me. Merely just to find me breathing, sighs of relief in air It was only my teddy bear. So I rose from my bed and carried teddy to a chair And treaded back to my bed and said a prayer for better sleep. While I found me getting drowsy, and my eyelids grew so heavy Rapidly did something rouse me, as I felt that creep repeat And I turned around to stare, surprised to see glaring at me Was my little teddy bear. Now I know that this is silly, but the air grew very chilly And I grew confused and moved to place my teddy somewhere else. I threw the bear onto the floor, and went to snooze amid my sheets ‘Til my heart skipped a beat, when I felt it’s hairy pelt And looked over my left shoulder to see something sitting there. It was my teddy bear. How and why my bear returned had become a great concern So I thought about the cause of what had brought my bear to bed And I reckoned that my teddy wanted nothing but my love. So I gave my bear a hug and let it sleep next to my head But as I dozed I heard a moan and felt a breath upon my hair But there was only my teddy bear. Angry and a little scared, I heaved my teddy down the stairs And treaded back to my bed and said a prayer to get some sleep For I was drained and wishing I had chained my teddy to a post. And so I closed my eyes and mouth and tried to count as many sheep As I could, but at a thousand heard a sound like death declare: “‘Tis only I, your teddy bear.” I leapt from my spreads and fled, away from my haunted bed Ever dreading what my eyes would have me see upon the silk. So cautious did I try to creep, you wouldn’t hear a cry or peep And so with such stealth did I sneak up to the shadow on my quilt While stuffing it inside the plumbing, I was becoming quite aware That this was no ordinary Teddy Bear. Such was my thinking up until I felt my velvet lashes sinking Obviously ready set for an extensive stretched siesta Darkness folded over me and I was spinning in my dreams When suddenly did I awake, opened my eyes and there crept the Teddy bear, that wicked devil with tooth bared and claws a flare; Oh! How to get rid of this Teddy Bear? As the bear began attacking, I just couldn’t help but asking Why my teddy hated me, while I fended off assaults Of flying claws and paws of fury, and glass eyes so full of flame. I tore that little bear to pieces and realized to my exalt That I could go to sleep at last, but first I say to you beware: Of Teddy Bears with vicious flairs and not a Care but your despair. -Methane
