What is it for?

IP:

All that is happening, what is it for?
The disease, the anguish, the fighting, the war.
The hatred of race because of their skin.
The hatred of gays for who they fuckin'.
The lies upon lies that politicians put out.
The whole war, what is it about?
The attack on Iraq is it for oil?
Is oil enough to make world's tensions boil?
The death of soldiers fighting for more.
All that is happening, what is it for?

The murder of people why is it condoned?
Is the death of a person right to help one's own?
How many murders can you stand?
How much blood can you wipe off of your hands?
How much evidence do you really got?
How many lies to a nation can be bought?
Does anyone care, is anyone home?
The murder of people why is it condoned?

Patriotism what is it for?
Is it a way to help market your war?
Is it really the land of the free, home of the brave?
When a whole race of people that we're trying to enslave.
To make into the spitting image of us.
Why are we right, why do we make the fuss?
Everything over there was running alright?
What was the point of going into a fight?
Well there's no way that I can take anymore?
All that is happening, what is it for?

I live in Hippie Santa Cruz, so it gave me insight for this poem.

hmm...personally...i really really liked it..i think ur right...there are just so many questions int his world that are unanswered and for some reason nobody seems to know whats the purpose of doing such things then doin it all over again then all of a sudden react that it aint right or wrong. Its either they pretending not to understand the facts of life or just playin dumb to make the point that "shit happens" . Im tired of people saying "thats life..what u gonna do?" cuz we all know that if we do something then it impact our lives and sometimes make a difference...

but the truth still there...we dont know whats the deal is...but we all know we live in a world full of confusions and we just need to figure out things for ourselves and share as many ideas as we can to the world...

(i aint no philosopher or anything but its just my views LOL)

nice deep drop....hope to see more!

Sup Mad..I never read anything from you before but I was feelin the whole vibe of this piece. You raised a lot of good questions and also good points in their defense, really makes one think while reading it. The only part i questioned was:

"Everything over there was running alright?
What was the point of going into a fight?"

I dont know if you're referring to the whole war with Iraq in that statement, (i Know you mentioned it earlier on but you could have been talkin a whole nother time and place or just in general with that line) but if you were, I dont think everything was ALRIGHT in Iraq at all. n i dont condone the murder of people but we didnt just go over there for nothing. Kinda contradictory, patriotism and not condoning murder...ANYWAY, great piece, look u got me on all this other shit.
Stay up and keep droppin em.
You definately have a talent
Pz.
